Bronze Cross Accomplishment

In my life the most meaningful accomplishment is when i finished my Bronze cross. The Bronze Cross is a certification in water rescue that is apart of the lifesaving training offered in Canada, and awarded by the Royal Life Saving Society of Canada. Finishing my Bronze cross is such a big achievement in my life because throughout my life i've felt that i have been told that i'm a bad swimmer. Ever since I was a kid i was never comfortable in the water and I was always a bit afraid so my parents put me in swimming class. I went to my swimming class for multiple years and i hated it because i wasn't the best. Then about 6 years ago i quit because i joined guitar, taekwondo and a lot of other classes. After that i felt that i never needed to finish my swimming because you won't need it in the future but my mother always wanted me to become a lifeguard because she doesn't know how to swim. I personally think she just wanted me to become a lifeguard so i get comfortable swimming and teach her. About 1 year ago my mom somehow convinced me to try to go back and start swimming. I think that this is my most important accomplishment because i got to prove a lot of people wrong by completing by bronze cross. This had impacted my life in multiple ways but i think that it has helped me overcome my fear of water. When i was young we went swimming at the beach with my family and when my dad brought me to the deep end and made me swim with my older cousins i had gotten tired and went underwater and i got pulled by the current and one of my cousins noticed and grab on to me. I always thought that that incident had traumatized me and after that day i was so scared of entering the water again. I have learned that if you try your hardest and persevere you can accomplish anything in

The one accomplishment that marked my transition from being a child into becoming an adult would have to be when I got my first job at Culver’s. This accomplishment was a major milestone in my life which lead to many other great things to follow it. After applying to many different places I finally got a call back from Culver’s saying that they would like to have me come in to have an interview with me. At first I was a nervous wreck, but with the help of some really good friends with some good tips on how to dress, talk, and answer some of their tougher questions. I really appreciated their help and if it weren't for them I probably wouldn't have got the job.…

One accomplishment that took a great deal of effort was lacrosse. Right from the start of freshman year, I knew that I wanted to become a good lacrosse player, enough to make an impact on the game. I did numerous clinics and leagues for two years straight, I worked as hard as I possibly could to become the player I wanted to be. Throughout my training, there were times where I felt like I was never going to be as good as I longed to be, but my family and my coach motivated me to work through because they felt that the hard work would be worth it. Whenever I was feeling like this, I would always turn to them because they reminded me of how hard I worked and how great I would feel once I felt the reward.…

When I was younger, I would try to come up with song lyrics and was also interested in learning guitar. My dad played when he was younger but never played much after he had kids. I was fortunate enough one day to get a piano from a close family friend.…

The Lesson in Quitting For the past 7 years of my life, swimming has played a huge role. Growing up, I had always enjoyed being in the water, and was one of the odd kids that genuinely enjoyed swimming lessons, no bribes required (thinking about it, I wish I had some of those kids in the lessons I teach now). Overtime, it began to feel less like a passion and more like an obligation; something I had committed to that was too late to stop. I was afraid to quit, afraid to disappoint, and trying to be dedicated to a sport I had lost interest in made me start to hate it. This year, I finally decided to drop the sport, and am now embracing the huge change it has had in my life.…
