In general, the story revolves around an unusual childhood or on a child of broken home. Banks throughout his book Rule of the Bone depicts his main character Chappie as a victim and makes his readers feel sorry for him although he has chosen the wrong way with little options. Chappie views himself as a real criminal when he left his own home to go live with his best friend Russ and some other robbers’ people. He developed an independence immoral life that many persons in his age may wish to achieve although it was not actually a good life. Chappie has suffered a lot from his abusive stepfather, unkind mother, and a drug issue.
