At approximately 8:45 a.m., Mr. Rossignol and the plaintiff were driving their respective vehicles in the northbound lanes of I-294/94/80 and just west of the Illinois/Indiana state line. At that location, traffic in the northbound lanes of the highway is actually traveling west. The interstate at that location has four lanes in each direction and the northbound and southbound are divided by a median with a vertical concrete barrier. The Birmingham Hip Resurfacing device is used to provide stability and mobility for patients with hip pain and joint deterioration. The implant contains two parts, both made of Cobalt-Chromium alloy. Patient is a 52-year-old male hub technician who alleges cumulative injury from 07/24/1995 to 01/09/2017 to the bilateral knees. Per OMNI entry, he was initially diagnosed with bilateral patellar tendonitis and bilateral knee sprain. Based on the medical report dated 02/02/17, the patient states since approximately June of 2015, he noticed the gradual onset of pain on his bilateral knees, which he attributes to performing his job duties which required him to sit for prolong periods of time in a cold room at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Hip Fracture in Older Adults Causes Hip fracture in older adults can be caused or sustained from a variety of causes. It is quite common for fractures to be sustained from falls in older adults who may have already been having some form of mobility issues to begin with. My day started with going to Judge Lippitt’s courtroom. The trial had already started, the defendant’s councilor was doing his opening statement. He was in the middle of telling everyone in the courtroom that this case was about, disagreement on how much bone was removed. Further, calming that the judgment call was on the surgeon who actually saw joint and arthritis. The patient is a 92-year-old female with a history of several falls several weeks ago. She was initially seen in Hackensack in the ED where allegedly there were no fractures found and she was sent home. However the patient patient is languished at home, increasing pain, inability to walk resulting in further falling and worsening of her symptoms including anorexia, constipation.
