Somalia is such a broken country in so many ways it is nearly impossible to determine what needs to be fixed first. For starters, one might start by establishing a government with actual authority, because currently it is a joke. The law is disregarded and is not even enforced, so by creating a government that is respected and feared it may be able to stop the warlords from controlling the country. If the warlords can be stopped the government can then focus on developing the nation beginning with schools. Due to the civil war, nearly 90% of all schools in Somalia have been destroyed and many years of education have been lost. So, hypothetically if one wanted to begin educational development in Somalia the first thing to do is build a school. The next major problem with education in Somalia is that 80% of teachers are untrained; so the next step is to train teachers so that they can be qualified to educate the future. The last step I believe should happen is to create a uniformed curriculum for the schools. Since there are no language barriers this is very doable and something that I believe needs to happen for schools to get on the right

America prides itself on being a democratic government and a land of equal opportunity, but does it live up to those standards? Incoming inequality is growing in American society, and the effectiveness of democracy is being threatened by this increasing inequality. This income gap is increasing rapidly between the rich and the middle class and the middle class is now diminishing: “The rich get richer, the poor get poorer” is not just a cliché - rather, this concept is a theoretical process called “wealth concentration.” The already-wealthy are growing richer because they have the resources to invest wealth to…
