Culture makes a difficult term to express when it comes to the sense and meaning, but it is common for every society in the world to have a localized one. In fact, when it is viewed from various perspectives, there are a number of definitions for the word culture. Refferring to Oxford Dictionary (2012,p149), ‘Culture is defined as the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society’. In other words, culture can be assumed as a symbol for the nation. Thus, the society needs to learn and gives more attention to its culture especially when it deals with intercultural awareness. There is no doubt that Indonesia and British have a number of differences in the way the culture holds but they are the countries that uphold the implementation of cultural values. There are a number of valuable customs for everyday life that are very crucial and fundamental in both countries, but nowadays people have no concern about that. Nowadays, it is became a tradition in Indonesia and British To name, handshaking has a similar connotation for both countries, defining marking out a considerate sign of warm welcome or acknowledgment. However, In Indonesia, handshaking has even a more intense implication such us showing respect, asking apology and forgiving. Initially, handshaking puts on view the respect for other people. From the perspective of business ethics, it is considered that people have to shake hands to show respect and gratitude with his or her business partner. In fact, handshaking is one of significant acts to help the partner make decisions as it is very common that decisions are made subjectively. For instance, it is very essential to have a partner with a good manner because In Indonesia your manner will reflect the way of running one’s business. In contrast, in the UK, having ability, knowledge and skill will be the major aspects to assess and create a decision for business actors. The Indonesian believe that these factors are also important but they stand at the second place and still can be improved by training, In fact, it is hard to rebuild the manner as it is deeply rooted as a character. For children and adolescents in Indonesia, handshaking is the most important habit to measure the success of parents in educating their children.
