Bring Your Dog To Work

Decent Essays
I agree with what the supporting passage says about the Bring Your Dog to Work program. It can relieve stress in the work place. It can make the workplace somewhat more productive. However it can become a distraction in the workplace.

In the first passage it mentions that it can relieve stress in the workplace. Especially during the rushes of finishing projects or dealing with deadlines. I believe that is true. More businesses should have a Take Your Dog to Work program.

It can somewhat increase the amount of productivity in the workplace. By allowing the employees to bring their pet and be able to have them in their office while they work can make them want to work harder. They get a sense of accomplishment

I believe that bringing your dog to work is not a good idea. Many questions come to mind when thinking about the topic. First I think about the dog harming a co-worker and that could lead to other issues. Second I think about the safety issues, because many coworkers could have allergies or are traumitized by an event that may of happened with a dog. If your dog happens to bite a co-worker, it could lead you to a legal matter, and that would cost you some money.…

Lastly, I feel having a dog in a work place is a BIG safety concern to others. There is no guarrentee that all dogs are well behaved enough to be in a work space. A bad behaved dog could lash out and bite a person and possibly hurt someone really bad. Another safety issue is if the dog was running around the work place he could run into someone or something and break things which is highly unsafe to…

To put it bluntly, I do not support the bring your dog to work program. As one employee pointed out, there are many issues that can arise from having an animal at work. Things like allergies, the need to be let out, and the unexpected are very common with dogs and could further inhibit workplace productvity. I have nothing against dogs or their owners, I own a couple of dogs myself, but I just do not believe the workplace is a place for an animal. Myself, I am not allergic to dogs, but I know many people who are.…
