Bring Me The Horizon Analysis

The song Throne by Bring Me The Horizon has quite a dynamic sound with many different elements without even contemplating the lyrics. The song starts with a short intro of electronic elements that periodically play throughout the song. The drums begin to become a part of this element starting with a fast paced cymbal rhythm picking up the speed. Once the rhythm is at full speed, it drops, pulling the listener into the entering lyrics. It is slower for a few seconds and only contains a steady and firm drum rhythm before it picks up again and becomes very dense with the electronic elements. Throughout the song, the density of these elements frequently build up and drop, before all the sound backs off completely to emphasize the meaning for the prolonged note of the singer, Oliver Sykes, setting an eerie tone. The elements steadily work back in to enforce the ending.
The way the instrumentation and electronic elements work together with the lyrics is astonishing. As if the lyrics were not already powerful standing alone, (Sykes, 2015) “So you can throw me to the wolves, tomorrow I will come back leader of the whole pack,” the sound behind it makes it even bigger.

The lyrics have an overall positive outlook. The lyrics tell you to keep fighting when those around you continuously put you down, but they also want you to forgive those people. The lyrics, (Sykes, 2015) “So don’t even try to cry me a river, cos’ I forgive you. You are the reason I still fight,” explain this perfectly. This song is very important to me in the fact that it is full of optimism. It only encourages the listeners to pick themselves up stronger than they were when they went down and to forgive the ones that have caused them to fall down. The song is not “pro revenge” or anything of that
