Bright Blue Monologue

Decent Essays
Bright blue orbs looked up at the night sky, wonder filling every drop of them. A girl with tear stained cheeks yet a smile on her face. White clouds floated by. A white moon shinning ever so brightly. It was as quiet as could be, and the girl had all of this to herself. How lucky she is to be alive. She completely forgot about the reason she was sitting at the edge of the cliff. She just forgot everything and looked up at the sky. There were what seemed to be millions of stars staring back at her, as if asking her to come join them. It was then that she remembered something that her mother had told her.

Do you see the stars up there? They're people like you and me. They are the part of us that gleam and shine, then disappear during the day. Don't worry, they don't really disappear, they're still there. They just can't be seen. When I grow old and join your papa, I'll become a star. Everyone becomes a star when they leave this world, even you. But don't be scared, because you'll never be lonely. You'll have other stars like me and papa. Maybe you'll even make a new friend. Who knows. Just remember, if you ever get lonely without me there for you, look up at the sky and you will know that I'm there.

The girl, once again, let empty tears fall from her eyes. How she wished she could see her mother again. The green grass acting as prickly cushion, allowed her to stare at the now empty sky. It was then when she started to wonder where even was. She was lost, hungry, and the storm inside of her kept on raging. She looked up at the sky again and noticed that the dark shade of blue was turning brighter. Sunrise would come soon.

Her time was running

Tears ran down her cheek and froze on the cold concrete. Living in the world where a constant fear of eviction took over her mind, Kamala found the peace in her children. Without them, the sky turned dark and life became meaningless. If only Grace’s voice could emanate through time and space to sympathize with Kamala, she would have not been so lonely and traumatized. A soft glisten of pale, blue moonlight graced the dark navy sky of Happy Harbour's winding bays as midnight dawned over the city. Twinkling white stars gleamed throughout the dark sky; reflecting in the soft waves below. Cicadas chirping accompanied by the occasional splash of the rising tide, which rose over the rocky shores- frothing and hissing with white foam. The chilly night smelt of salt, accompanied by the skittering of water caught in the breeze.…

"Some nights the sky wept stars that quickly floated and disappeared into the darkness before our wishes could meet them." (Beah 80). The way Ishmael Beah describes the stars describes how your outlook at life can cause you to believe the stars are yours or that they are unreachable. Shakespeare's play Othello tells the story of Othello, his recently married wife Desdemona, his soldier Iago, Iago's wife Emilia, and Othello's wife Desdemona. Comparably to Othello and Desdemona's new relationship, Ishmael Beah's memoir, A Long Way Gone, tells the story of an immature boy trying to survive in his new life alone as a refugee and later a soldier.…

Sunlight. The sole item that is vital for life all around the world. Here at Berry Patch Farms sunlight is the one thing that is constantly being fought over. Every strawberry here is trying to take in more than the next, hoping that they will be chosen first at the next strawberry picking and going on to greater and grander things. The cold, crisp night slowly crept through the valley as the sun melted on the horizon like molten lava. Soon the land would be at darkness's disposal;sleeping, waiting, and unwinding from the day's trials, calming my busy mind. Silence fell like a thin linen blanket, covering a sleeping baby, wanting nothing but to wake it from its peaceful slumber. A light fog began to appear and softy touched my skin as I sat and looked at the magnificent stars above. Soon the sun will rise once more, and the earth will sustain its ever going affair.…

Reconciliation Interrupted by the faint sounds of birds chirping and grass swaying in the gentle breeze, the calming silence became a distant memory. As the birds flapped their wings, moving at the edge of the tiny meadow, from one tree to the next, they cast their shadows over the body of a small brown skinned, black haired girl. She lay on her back in the hilltop grass, facing directly up towards the almost blinding light of the afternoon sun. Her dark skin, holding a lively warm glow, reflected the rays of sunlight off of her quickly flickering eyelids. Suddenly, they were open, revealing her dark brown almond shaped eyes and her ever so slightly off white sclera.…
