Brigham Young was born in the year 1801 in Whitingham, Vermont ,and worked as a traveling carpenter and blacksmith for most of his life . He married Miriam Works in 1824. Introduced to the church in 1830 and after two years of exploring the church, he became a member in 1832. The same year ,he served a mission in western New York for the church .
