The Hidden Kingdom, third book in the Wings of Fire fiction series by Tui T. Sutherland, draws you into a world of diverse dragons based in a peaceful Rainforest Kingdom set like a jewel in the violent world of Pyrrhia But the RainWings who live here are not without fault; though they might be beautiful and peaceful, they are lazy, and when several members of their tribe go missing, they make no effort to find them. But prophecy doesn’t say who will win the war, and everyone wants to use the dragonets to achieve their own personal goals, even the NightWings who made the prophecy. Because of this, the dragonets have been kept away from their families, earned their freedom by a hair, survived a plethora of adventures and escaped several forms of imprisonment. To make matters worse, Starflight, a NightWing, is torn between loyalty to his friends and his dark and mysterious tribe. In The Hidden Kingdom, the dragonets take refuge in the peaceful Rainforest for a little while, but to Glory’s dismay, she finds that despite all of their beauty and power, her fellow RainWings are extremely lazy. So lazy in fact, that they don’t care to save the dragons of their own tribe who are mysteriously going missing. Glory and the dragonets of destiny try to convince the Rain Wings to think otherwise, but to no avail. So they embark on a quest by themselves to find the missing dragons, eventually travel to the other side of Pyrrhia, where they find themselves in other kingdoms.
