Brief Summary Of The Book 'Chicken Man' By James

James starts to live his life as a thug. Instead of staying home and helping out with his family, he runs around in the streets committing crimes with his friends. He is running away from all of his responsibilities and staying away from his mother in order to avoid seeing her suffer emotionally. People influence James everywhere he goes and he is able to see the most cruel things the world has to offer. He is placed in many situations that make him rethink his life and how he should live it. Most lessons in life are taught through experience and those lessons make people grow up faster than they normally would. Bad stuff happens when people run away from their problems and it can send them down the wrong road. Ruth loses her best friend and her husband and James did not want to be trapped in the depression that his mother was going through. He could not take seeing his mom handle the deaths of the most important people in her life. Nobody wants to be around someone whose emotions are always down. These things sent him down a path of bad decisions. He was no longer worried about what was going on at home but was more interested about what he could discover about the outside world. He met a man named “Chicken Man” and got a lot of advise from him. James learned that he has his entire life ahead of him and that its up to him to decide how he wants to live it. He can continue to cause chaos in the streets or he can try to make something of himself. Once people find out that too many horrible choices can take them in a bad direction they get scared. The violent things that James saw are enough to make someone change their opinion on how they act. Nobody wants to end up in prison or dead in a place where they are forgotten
