Brief Summary Of All Summer In A Day By Ray Bradbury

Decent Essays
Ray Bradbury's all summer in a day teaches readers that jealousy can lead to people doing bad things. In this story the kids in her class locked her in a closet because she saw the sun and remembers what is lookes likes. The kids are growing up on venus where there are storms all the time. Once every 7 years it stops raining and the sun comes out for only 2 hours. Margot moved to venus from earth when she was 4 so she has seen the sun. The other kids were only 2 when the sun came out so they don't remember what the sun looks like,so the kids are jealous that she remembers what the sun looks like.
Some people may disagree and say the theme of the story is about bullying. The kids would verbally abuse her and say she is wrong about the sun. They also locks her into a closet so she wouldn't be able to see the sun. The kids were scared that margot might be right about the sun. She and the scientist both believe that the sun would come out on that day. The kids in her class disagreed with her, but she said that the scientist said that the sun would come out. I think that this story is about how the kids were jealous of her.
