I have always loved riding in cars. After a long day in first grade, I used to fall asleep to the engine purring in my mother's Honda Odyssey, even though it was only a 5-minute drive home. As I grew, and graduated into the shotgun seat, it became natural and enjoyable to look out the window. Seeing my world passing by through that smudged glass, I would daydream what I could do with it.…

For starters, I would not sit and hide; I would get together a group of people with a variety of skills, like electronics, survival, etc. I would lead my group out of my school and bring them to some sort of nearby safe haven; not a store, or anything of the likes, since most people will be rushing them. The best place for us to go would be some form of neighborhood that can be easily roadblocked. Everyone knows that supplies are necessary in a zombie-infested world.…

The pre-medicine track has to start somewhere. For me, it was in the hospital where I volunteered over the summer. Aside from my short visit to an Emergency Room at the age of 13, I had never actually been inside a hospital wing. Sure, I’d watched numerous TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, but I had no perception of what an actually hospital functioned like. I didn’t really know what to expect going into my first volunteer shift.…

Growing up as a homeschooled pastor’s kid, it is not surprising that my social interactions were all but limited. From the ages of eight to sixteen, the longest we lived in one place while being employed at one job was approximately two years. As financial situations plagued the churches we were employed at, they were left with no other choice than to lay my dad off. As a child I longed for a sense of consistency when it came to friendships, as every time would begin to grown close to someone it seemed as if we were shortly after uprooted rom that position, and forced to move. This eventually led to me removing myself from all forms of attachment (outside of my family) because I feared that I would soon lose anyone or anything I became attached…
