NYC - Originally born in New York on January 11,1842. He was a leading American psychologist and philosopher in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was the oldest of five kids and interestingly his younger brother Henry james ended up becoming a novelist and writer.

Jame speculated that thinking, feeling, learning, and remembering all help us survive as species. His theories include Pragmatism,FUnctionalism, and James- Lange Theory of Emotion.
His influences
All of his writings and theories are still influential and relevant today. His classic textbook “The Principles of Psychology” (1890) is still relevant today and is still looked at as his masterpiece that shaped
