NYC - Originally born in New York on January 11,1842. He was a leading American psychologist and philosopher in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was the oldest of five kids and interestingly his younger brother Henry james ended up becoming a novelist and writer.

Jame speculated that thinking, feeling, learning, and remembering all help us survive as species. His theories include Pragmatism,FUnctionalism, and James- Lange Theory of Emotion.
