With the approval of same sex couples among families of different race, ethnicity, color, education background, and sexual orientation, we can see if this is true in the documentary of Bridegroom. Bridegroom mainly focuses on two people: Shane and Tom. Their relationship comes fall when one of them does something a little miss unsafe that causes a death. In this documentary, we can find certain aspects of the movie. Bridegroom focuses on two to three different sexual themes here: positive, negative, and romantic. The movie takes a positive theme in the sense that Tom’s and Shane’s families had cooperated with each other for the longest time since they were together. Kimmel (2015) says that “…establishing a romantic relationship with a same-sex partner helps one to feel “chosen,” to resolve issues of sexual identity, and to feel more complete” (p. 113). Shane wants everyone to know that he is doing everything in the name of Tom. As the main star of the documentary, Shane goes out to cities and gives talks about how his relationship helped him be the happiest man on earth. His relationship has moved many people’s hearts, knowingly that there are people out there who don't think of same-sex relationships any less. Shane knew that being with Tom meant the world to him since he felt …show more content…
This is a problem that not only happens to homosexual couples, but also to heterosexual couples. Kimmel (2015) states “our culture is far more willing to turn a blind eye to sexual than to romantic relationships among same-sex partners” (p. 113). This movie may contain some scenes that could trigger some deep emotions, since it talks about the death of a loved one, from a same-sex relationship and trying to move on his life by living for his boyfriend’s namesake. Be prepared to be asked questions about “why would anyone turn their backs on someone,” or “why didn’t Shane fight back with Tom’s family about him not being there at the funeral ceremony.” From watching Bridegroom, there hasn’t been a point where I would feel that this movie isn’t the best documentary to show in this

In the play “Our Town” the idea of marriage is seen in many different lights, and as is often in the world, it can get a little confusing. One view, held by the Stage Manager himself, is one of simplicity. Meaning that, the ceremony itself, is short and sweet, and the two live side by side the rest of their lives. How different that is from today’s views. All these people, getting the nicest and grandest flowers and getting the monkey's uncle to come to the wedding, all to cut it off three months later because they aren't “compatible”.…

The little boy in Wenn sie kommen reacts quite differently than in Young Bride. The little boy is isolated from everyone else by social class and his family status of having no one with him to speak up or no one is shown to the viewer. From that place of total isolation he is finally given a piece of kindness by the girl who doesn’t turn him in, and in reaction he gives his all to help her. His reaction is to foster the only positive relationship he has, no matter how small and put it in a strangle hold by “rescuing the girl”. That is an interesting move from a person who has just met the girl but in the narrative where you only have a 2 to 6 minutes normally to fully express your vision it has to do.…

I began watching the show Faking It because it was primarily an all gay focused storyline. The premise is: two best friends pretend to be gay so that they can become popular among their very liberal minded school mates, but throughout their journey, one realizes that she might actually be a lesbian. Throw in a majority lgbt cast, real pressing issues, and fun, witty humor and instantly Faking It became my favorite show on air. By the third season I was absolutely obsessed with Amy and Karma’s story, but a subplot had begun to capture my interest. Shane, comic relief and gay-extraordinaire(Amy always went to him when she had problems facing her sexuality), had found interest in the new boy at school, one who was mysterious and didn’t let many people in.…

How does Bronte present marriage in Wuthering Heights? Throughout ‘Wuthering Heights’, Bronte conveys the destruction caused by socially convenient marriages; it seems that the tragic romance of Heathcliff and Catherine is the root of the novel and conveys the consequences inflicted by marrying for status rather than love. Bronte expresses the idea that marriage should be based upon “devotion” and love. The challenging of these socially constructed boundaries of marriage, adds to the gothic element of the novel.…
