Brian Nguyen's Arguement In Key Club

Decent Essays
Our beloved LTG, Brian Nguyen, persuaded me into joining Key Club. He provided reasonable claim and justification for his actions and that got me on board. Not only that but my friends already involved in Key Club encouraged me to apply and attend events/meetings. Without Brian and those hooligans, I wouldn't be here today.

A hot debate relevant for today is the question of how the constitution is to be interpreted. When writing the constitution, the founding fathers were clearly living in an ern which entailed concerns that are different from concerns today. During the constitutional convention, men discussed debated until they agree on what should become the framework for our great nation. Because of this the constitution appears to be ambiguous on many particular issues which we face today. Are we then to address those issues in light of the context in which the constitution was written, or are we to view it as a living document that’s meaning changes with time?…

The Second Amendement gave us the right to bear armes. Wayne LaPierre listed arguments to support why armed guards should be in schools. These arguments include LaPierre saying as parents we do everything we can to keep our children safe, the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, and a gun in the hands of the Secret Service Agents and a soldier protecting the President and the country isn’t a bad word. Wayne LaPierre also asked his readers why the idea of a gun is good when used to protect our country, but bad when used to protect our children in their schools. On the other hand, Mark Kelly listed arguments in support of stricter gun control laws.…

In history, there tends to be a trend among many great leaders. Any successful leader who has accomplished great things has also experienced being misunderstood. Ralph Waldo Emerson once stated, “-Is it so bad then to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood” (Emerson).…

The organization starts in the middle school and goes into high school. My high school isn’t big on FFA, so I had to find out through a mutual friend. When I started in this club I didn’t know what to except so I was shy at first and didn’t volunteer for activates as much as I should have.…

Searle’s Chinese Room Argument was first published in 1980 as an experiment where John Searle attempted to prove certain relationships and differences between artificial intelligence and the human brain. I’m going to argue that the explanations for his argument are inconclusive. John Searle’s Chinese Room argument was an experiment where Searle locked himself in a room and was fed slips of paper under the door in three stages. The first stage is called “a script”. In the first stage John is given a large amount of Chinese writing.…

We really needed those new members. They brought with them a positive attitude to the whole situation. I could see then we were giving in too easily, but that did not mean we could make miracles happen. I’d love to say, “And with their help we raised enough money for everyone to go to Washington D.C, and we had a blast,” but that not exactly what happened. The new members and the old members all came to the same conclusion that a trip to D.C was too expensive and in the end only a few members would be able to go with what we raised.…

Kwan argues that religious experience can offer prima facie justification, or PFJ. He defines PFJ as follows: “An experience has PFJ if the claims of the experience are probably true unless there are positive reasons to the contrary” (Kwan 507). He will frame the argument in terms of justification for the individual having the experience; he is not arguing that everyone should believe in God on the basis of religious experience. Rather, if the argument succeeds, it will show that those who have had religious experiences of God (of the right sort) have prima facie justification for belief in God. Kwan’s argument is based on what he calls the principle of critical trust, or PCT, which is derived from his notion of prima facie justification.…

I decided that I would take leadership roles throughout high school in order to help serve the less fortunate. KEY Club, a service and fundraising club, became my focus, and I travelled up the ranks to become the school’s external affairs manager and the service committee chair of the Eastern Canada District. As I introduced more extra-curricular activities into my life, organization became more important -- and I was shocked to see how much it helped me save…

The titles of the first three chapters are “Into the Primitive”, “The Law of the Club and Fang”, and “The Dominant Primordial Beast.” These titles all tie into each other through the development of Buck. In the chapter “Into the Primitive”, Buck is in the primary stages of growing to adapt to the harsh environment of the Yukon. When Buck got to the Yukon, he was not expecting a big difference between Santa Clara (his hometown) and the Yukon, but he was wrong. He had to adapt to the small amounts of food he got, how fast he has to eat his food, the cold weather, and the “savage” humans and dogs.…

James and Pascal’s defences of faith in some of their most famous arguments, specifically Pascal’s, devalue faith by making faith selfish, providing an obvious out to faith, and making the decision of faith into a gamble, oddly, his devaluation of faith does not hurt his argument, it makes it easier to convince the skeptics. To prove that Pascal’s argument devalues faith and to understand why it doesn’t negatively affect his argument, it’s necessary to understand the whole argument. His argument can be split into quite a few premises. He starts with the possibility of God, which is the main idea of his argument. Basically, it’s possible that God does exists, and it’s also possible that God does not exist, something nearly everyone agrees on.…
