College?
Brian Leach graduated in 2004 with his bachelor’s degree. He obtained his master’s degree in Special Education from Bloomsburg University, graduating in 2010.
High School?
Leach attended Shikellamy High School and remarked that he was a “little bit of a clown” there. Along with raising laughs out of his classmates, Leach was also an athlete. He participated in soccer, cross country, skiing, and swimming. When Leach attended high school, he was fully aware he wanted to pursue Education in his future. He explained that he was always performing authority positions throughout high school, causing teaching to appeared natural for him to pursue.

Leach expressed his love for helping and educating special needs students and credited that to why he became a teacher. In high school and throughout college, Mr.Leach worked as a ski instructor in the winter, and a swimming/lifeguard instructor in the summer. He had performed both of these positions for ten years.
As for Shamokin, Leach explained that he enjoyed the students and co-teachers here. He does not live within the district, instead making a 45-minute commute to work every day from Milton.
Future?
When asked if he would want to remain a teacher forever, Leach quickly replied with, “Oh, yeah, definitely!” His genuine excitement was brightly showing. Along with teaching, Mr. Leach also works as a photographer on weekends and weeknights, planning on continuing both careers for as long as possible. Regardless of the number of jobs, Mr.Leach appeared fully dedicated and involved with both positions.
Last Words?
By the end of the year, Mr. Leach hopes to have established and built on the foundation of independence within his students. He hopes they mature and grow as people throughout the year.
