Although the entirety of Brian Gratwicke’s presentation entitled A Conservationist’s Perspective on the Global Amphibian Crisis was both informative and inspirational, there were two main messages from the presentation, in particular, that resonated with me the most. These messages include the purpose of conservation, and persevering even when the outlook is grim. It was due to the relatedness and the fact that conservation scientists often forget these messages that I regard the aforementioned messages as the most important. Brian Gratwicke defined the purpose of conservation science to be the mitigation of a threat. This purpose is often lost in light of politics.
