A zoo is a place where different kinds of animals are kept and maintained with purpose of Educating the public about the varieties of animals and birds that exist all over the world, including our country. On our visit I observed that by going to the zoo, the experience expounds on what most of us know about animals ie; general information. I was very delighted to see one of my favorite animals, which is the tiger; they have an immense den like home made in a profound collapse an enormous rock. Close to his home, there is an open space for the Tigers to move about uninhibited. Close to his home there is likewise a colossal lake loaded with water for them to drink water and the atmosphere created is just like the jungle, we visualize where the Tiger is supposed to live. This area gives us a very clear picture of what a jungle is, and we also find it very easy to understand the living conditions of Tigers in the jungle. It teaches more than any book could, as we see the Tigers itself and the surroundings as they may

Once seen throughout the southeastern United States, fewer than 100 Florida panthers are estimated to live in south Florida today. The current range is less than five percent of their original range across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and parts of Tennessee and South Carolina. Today, the main threats are habitat loss, fragmentation, and degradation (National Park Service, n.d.). We need to recognize the signs and figure out how the stop the extinctions of today’s ecosystem. To get an idea of the shape and characteristics of a mature Florida panther, picture a large cat that has no spots and consists of mainly one color.…

It was relaxing. When our time ran out, we left the cabin with heavy hearts, wishing to stay longer. On the way home, we stopped at a unique zoo. What made it unique is that you drive through the zoo in you car and feed animals. We rented a trolley and fed bison, elk, llamas, camels, and small deer.…

The long, spotted neck of a giraffe gracefully swooped down to the biscuit I nervously held in the air. I have never felt more humbled to stand before such a grandiose animal, nor more present in and aware of the fascinations of nature. Historically, zoos have come a long way from entertainment facilities to conservations education centers designed to inspire its audiences. Yet, they have always been controversial even until this day. According to architect and zoo director David Hancocks, author of A Different Nature: The Paradoxical World of Zoos and Their Uncertain Future, zoos have served as an ironic dichotomy of a “humans hold for Nature while simultaneously seeking to dominate it and smother its very wilderness (Hancocks, 6).”…

A trip to the zoo is always enlightening as no matter how long ago it was we last visited we can always forget something about the animals that live this world with us. Going to the zoo can remind us that we are creatures just like these animals, but also remind us that we are so much more than just animals. Our lives on the surface seem so much more complex than the primates around us, however if we could take the time to observe the lives and the emotions of the animals around us then maybe we can learn who they are, and maybe who we are. The primate that I picked was a mongooses lemur, native to Madagascar.…

Many people use school as their way to explore the outside world and acquire life’s perspicacity. The Alamo is a vast, wondrous place for young advanced students, like me, to experience Texas history on another level; therefore, I believe I’m a very superb applicant for this trip. As a child I grew up in the marvelous sun flower state, Kansas, there I attended a very mundane school that never took field trips with educational purposes.…

On March seventh of two thousand and seventeen I took a trip to the Toledo Zoo. The weather on March seventh was slightly overcast, yet somewhat cool with a nice breeze. Throughout the zoo some animals ventured outdoors in their enclosed habitats enjoying the break from the cold winter. Other remained behind the walls of their comfortable heated enclosures. Walking around the zoo was quite enjoyable, however when I came across the primate exhibit/enclosure there were no primates or other viewing areas to view them indoors.…

Ever since I was a little girl, animals fascinated me. What kindled that love for animals was the continuous trips to the zoo. Every January 1st of the year, my family and I would rouse early in the morning and start getting ready to kick off the year learning about different types of animals. I still feel a jolt of excitement when observing the flamingos, Bengal tigers, giraffes, and more animals from all around the world. I would spend all day at the zoo if my family lets me.…

The fall season this year is much hotter than any other years, but the weather did not keep me from packing my lunches and camera for my trip to the Los Angeles Zoo. Since I took all my courage to take this chance and request one day off from work, I had high expectation for this trip. I prepared the lunches on Sunday night so that it would lessen the time for preparation on Monday, the actual date. Departing at 9 o'clock in the morning, it took about one-hour driving and half an hour parking until I get to stand in front of the entrance with the sign saying "LOS ANGELES ZOO. " My friend must have been a little tired of dealing with my craziness over the idea of getting away from the city's loudness, but to me, it is like an adventure.…

My time spent at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium was absolutely unforgettable. Looking back on this project, I have realized just how much knowledge and experience I have been able to gain from my volunteerism. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy every single part of my project, but my eyes were opened to the endless possibilities a career in biology can offer me. Through working hands on with the animals and staff of the zoo, I was able to develop a sense of what a day on the job was like at this particular facility.…
