Improved Essays
As much as I dislike the Green Bay Packers, and Brett Favre as an athlete, this speech has to be the best retirement speech I’ve seen. Brett Favre, 20 year veteran of the NFL. One of, if not the best quarterback of all time shows us emotion, bravery, & leadership in his speech. These three reasons is what makes this speech inspirational. First, emotion. In this speech Favre breaks out into tears. You can tell he had been thinking over this decision for quite sometime. “It’s over. As hard as it is for me to ay, it’s over.” I couldn’t imagine getting in front of my fans, family, & more and telling them I’m done and breaking out in tears. Of course it was coming over time, but no matter what it’s the biggest decision of his life. Clearly it meant

He was aware it would be difficult but had his mind set. There a time in someone’s life that they can look at it and realize it’s just not right. The path they are taking needs a change. It’s like they have walk so many years with a blind fold over their eyes and in seconds it falls, to realize they have not done anything productive with their lives. A common debate topic in football, Tom Brady and his place in football history. Today’s generation of football fans seem to forget about all the “soon to be” retired legends that will end up in the hall of fame. One of those living legends happens to be Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback. Unfortunately he is one of the most hated quarterbacks and people will always be negative towards him, but when you’re one of the best in the NFL, if not the best, it’s only natural. Brady’s super bowl wins, all time total passing yards, and touchdown passes are the evidence to his greatness and legendary status.…

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--With Senior Day on the horizon, there is no doubt in the importance of the 21 seniors in the West Virginia University locker room. Tyler Orlosky is undoubtedly one of the Mountaineers' leaders and a crucial component to this season's success. The 6-foot-5, 296-pound center is probably the loudest, mouthiest guys on the team but he is also one of the most talented and has a keen sense of the game. "Smart, just really smart," WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen said the offensive linemen Orlosky. "…

Bush’s speech comforted the devastated nation by telling us acts of heroism and by telling us that we were going to get the men who did it. He wanted to comfort the nation because we were all affected by the tragedy of September 11th. He knew that we were confused about who did this and why anyone would ever do this. He comforted us by saying that the world was with us, supporting us and that we would never forget our nation’s national anthem playing at places such as Buckingham Palace, the streets of Paris and Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate. Knowing that the world’s prayers and support was with us reminded us that the entire world felt for us in the face of this tragedy.…

I believe that the NFL media, NFL based news sites, NFL T.V. channels, or just NFL news in general “jumps” on players and situations too hard. The NFL media productions around the world do this without even knowing a fourth of what happens inside the locker room or even on the field. But like I stated before, NFL media productions creates what is called “half true, half false” stories. This is because they want to create bigger stories and “breaking news” out of small, unwanted stories. This is because they would not make money out of those stories, and because nobody would read those stories in general (basically because they are small situations that don’t affect anything).…

Landrieu does this to show his full support and explain why they are removing the statue. He uses a heavy and empowering tone, as well as facts and references throughout his speech to rally others into seeing and agreeing with his views. Mayor Mitch Landrieu understood that when he gave this speech, there were some things that he had to emphasize by repeating.
