He also stated that he grew up in the indispensable idea and it's not an easy one to set aside. It was the right strategy at the end of World War II. The United States was the only major power left standing with anything like its prewar strength. The international order was in disarray, and only America was strong enough and the necessary leadership capabilities. America can't play the same role in 2020 that it played in 1945 or even in 1990 (Bremmer, 2015, p. 195).
Bremmer is against the approach of Moneyball America because of its lack of vision. He does not believe that Americans would play into anything that puts "value over values," and he knows that exceptionalism runs very deep. He continues to state that the United States isn't like any other country. Bremmer says, "We are not the underdog who must change the rules to compete with the big boys with fatter wallets, we aren't the Oakland A’s" (Bremmer, 2015, p. 198). At the end he chose Independent America. Independent America is the scenario that comes close to what he believes is the best for America. Not just immigration as a whole, but illegal immigrations. It is a serious problem that is in need of a solution. I do not agree that we should kick them out if they are good citizens but finding a way to regulate the process is a good placed to start. But as a country we should always allow for the legal immigrants to always be allowed to come into our country since millions have done since our America was founded. These immigrants are the best and brightest and are hungry for a better life and are willing to work for it, which is always made the United States stronger as a whole. To make them Americans, educate their children, and celebrate the successes and all that it means for our future is what we as a country should be known
