Cars should have breathalyzers that are used to start the car in order to prevent drunk driving. It would cut down the number of drunk driving related accidents. They are starting to become just as necessary as seatbelts and airbags in terms of keeping people safe on the road.
The benefits of having cars equipped with breathalyzers include safety on the road and cutting down on the number of DUI’s which would in turn keep the number of people in prisons to a lower count. Each day, around thirty people die of drunk driving related accidents (Fitzgerald). Having a person tested for their blood alcohol content and then not having the car start if it is over the legal limit, would cut that number down to almost zero. Also, having a breathalyzer
