INTRODUCTION

As I chose a topic on breastfeeding I wanted to learn if breastfeeding was better for infants. I compared and contrasted infant formulas versus breast milk to see how it affects a human’s body. I also wanted to details of how breastmilk affects a baby. This essay was made to inform every woman on why breast milk is used. Breast milk has been around since women have been on earth. Before infant formulas were discovered women only had one choice, but now women have more options. Women must be informed of all of the pros and the cons of not using breast milk. Unfortunately, there has been a decline in breastfeeding over the years. This has happened because women are now choosing not breastfeed at all. Each day new mothers are purchasing infant formulas instead of breastfeeding. There are many advertising about infant formulas all over America. There are also WIC programs available for poor mothers who need access to milk to feed their baby. The purpose of infant formulas is to ensure that infants are getting nutrients that they need. For starters, nursing bras, pump equipment, and mothers’ bodies must be washed daily. All breastfeeding mothers’ must watch what they intake. Mothers’ who allows someone else to breastfeed their child must be aware that the same rule implies. Breastfeeding mothers’ must eat healthy foods and drink nutritional liquids. Breastfeeding mothers also cannot drink or smoke. For instance, if a mother intake these substances any baby who drinks the breastmilk will also intake the same substances. Then, breastfeeding mothers’ must only take medications that her doctor prescribed as okay for her to take. No other medications can be taken without the permission from a doctor. It is very important for every mother to be aware that she is responsible for every particle that her baby
