Although many studies have been conducted to set a pattern for breastfeeding, little is known about the actual model of infant feeding. (Laurence, M, et al.). Breast-milk is easily digested, for this reason mothers will have to feed the infant every 2 to3 hours during the first weeks of development. It’s recommended that only breast-milk is given during the first 4 months, after that period is acceptable to introduce formula to the infants’ diet, understanding that is an addition to the diet and not a replacement to breast-milk.
