Breast-feeding is a natural and cost free source of food for the babies. It is highly indispensable for both humans and animals. However, breastfeeding in the public has always faced a lot of objection. People have adopted a social disapproval perception to public breastfeeding. Sometimes, women are forced to cease breastfeeding before the child is satisfied or even go for other alternatives like bottle feeding, thus denying the child its natural rights (Marsden 228). Given that social norms may have a great influence on the manner of breastfeeding, some mothers are always uncomfortable when breastfeeding in the public. Thus, they delay their child’s right to breastfeed and consequently cut the benefits of breast milk away from the baby. Public breastfeeding has been regarded to be wrong thus it must be done in private where nobody can see (Scott 84). It also creates an agreeable proclamation stating that you can breastfeed so long as nobody sees. Breastfeeding is actually baby feeding and it is appropriate. Mothers should not be ashamed about it. Instead, they should feel proud of the bundle of joy she brought to life. While keeping the balance of a blanket on the shoulder and putting the baby to breast the child is difficult, unnecessary heat maybe caused which is uncomfortable to both the mother and the child.
