Breastfeeding is normal and most people and doctors would agree that it is extremely beneficial to both the mother and the baby, yet if a mother decides to preform this perfectly normal and natural act in public people find it offensive. Despite the fact that a mother is caring for her child and making sure the child remains healthy, some people still disagree. Breastfeeding should be as normal to society as a mother feeding her child with a bottle. Breastfeeding should be allowed in public places without making the mothers feel ashamed.

When a mother breastfeeds, it provides extreme health benefits to both the babies and mothers. Breast milk contains antibodies that help to prevent Asthma, childhood leukemia, childhood obesity, ear infections, Eczema (atopic dermatitis), diarrhea, vomiting, lower respiratory infections, Necrotizing enterocolitis, (a disease that affects the gastrointestinal tract in pre-term infants) sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and type 2 diabetes. Along with helping the baby breastfeeding can give health benefits to the mother by helping a mother 's health and healing following childbirth. Breastfeeding leads to a lower risk of health problems in mothers like type 2 diabetes, certain types of breast cancer, ovarian cancer. Breast milk also contains colostrum this is the thick first milk that you make during pregnancy and just after birth.
