Breastfeeding infants offer many benefits to both the baby and its mother. The milk in breast milk is more easily digested, absorbed, and used. Breastfeeding also supports early immunity for the baby, helps the mother's uterus quickly return to normal size, and facilitates the important mother-child bonding process. It has also been found that the risk of mortality and morbidity is lower among infants who are breastfed. Mothers who opt out of breastfeeding must chose a formula that is best for their infant. Some infants may require a soy based formula due to allergies. When preparing formula the parents must remember to thoroughly cleanse all equipment of the bottles after each use.
