Susan G. Komen is an organization that helps turn patients into survivors. It was founded with a promise when Susan’s sister promised her that she would try her hardest to end breast cancer forever. Susan G. Komen addresses breast cancer in many ways with research, education, community health programs, global outreach, and treatment options. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide and the second-most common cancer overall. We need your help in ending the disease forever.
When we started our organization thirty years ago, little research existed behind breast cancer. We have made great strides in research, treatment, and education and currently have over three million survivors, but we are still working on a cure. One way you can become part of the pink nation is by joining us at the Race for the Cure on October 25th in Des Moines. Over 15,000 participants will come together downtown and stand up against breast cancer. Events will include live music, a walk/run, volleyball, horseshoes, and desserts from Scratch Cupcakes. Join us next Saturday by filling out the attached registration form and sending it back. If participating is not for you, events are only possible with the dedication of our volunteers.
