The breaking of the 4th wall showed that Andrew was taking control of his story and not the Professor. The author was trying to communicate us the question of whether President Andrew Jackson was a good leader and horrible leader. In the end, the author’s opinion on Andrew Jackson was shown at the very last scene. The author showed Andrew Jackson trying to sing and go back to the old stasis, but unable to keep his posture while a two lines of people in rags are walking in front of him and leaving a creepy and sad feeling in the atmosphere. These people in rags are the ghost of the Indians that suffered through the Trail of Tears.…

Laura Hillenbrand’s Unbroken falls into a greatly interesting biographical category, bellying a compelling and immersive narrative of endurance when facing adversity, supported from associated historical sources. This all helps to create a sort of patchwork, contributing uniquely to going through the different sections, or “acts,” to Louis Zamperini’s life; from childhood days of delinquency, which would become channeled into an exceptional running career, spurned quickly by the call to World War II as a pilot, bringing about his captivity and torture at the hands of the Japanese. This encompasses the bulk of the story, with due emphasis given to the fallout of after the war ends, but the reasons for this being so effective is that Hillenbrand…

Regardless of the idea that Supernatural is a horror show, in my opinion, it is more so a show based on family values and love between two brothers and other people that comes into their lives. Dean Winchester is one of the greatest characters ever to finesse a television screen. His actions in the show are both believable and identifiable. This is in part because of the distinguished writers that work on Supernatural, but mostly because of the phenomenal acting of Jensen Ackles. The terrific writers in the world can mastermind the outstanding character in the world, but if you hand the character over to unskillful actor, then writing becomes middling at best.…

The CW’s cult television show Supernatural tells the story of brothers Dean and Sam Winchester, played by Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, respectively, who hunt a variety of supernatural monsters from vampires and demons to sirens and ghosts. The show is one of the longest running shows for the network and for it’s genre; it entered its twelfth season on October 13. Supernatural has employed narrative elasticity in several episodes throughout its tenure, and these episodes tend to become the most memorable and humorous episodes of the show. Some episodes that employ narrative elasticity are simple “monster-of-the-week” episodes, such as season one’s “The Benders”. It aired later in the season, after Supernatural had established that monsters, like the cannibalistic wendigo in the second episode, are the bad guys.…

Upon my entry into English 1010-02, my first college writing class, I expected to breeze through the course with an easy-A and minimal effort after my successful completion of AP English 11 this past year. I began the year with the utmost confidence in my writing abilities, and believed that my skills were above par. It wasn’t until I received my score on the essay evaluation for my First-Week Essay- a measly five out of twenty- that I realized that this was not the case. At first, I was astonished that my seemingly exceptional writing skills had not earned me the A that I believed I deserved. However, as time went on I came to the realization that I had not put in nearly enough time or effort into the paper to receive more than a C at most.…
