Breaking a bone can arguably be one of the most painful things that could happen to someone. It is not even the physical part of breaking a bone that is the worst, in my own opinion, I feel like it is the aftermath. You cannot shower without getting the cast wet. If it is a bone in the lower half of your body, so you have to use crutches to get around. You are unable to get the itch under your cast unless you use a metal coat hanger, which is highly frowned upon as you can get an infection if you end up cutting yourself. If that does not convince you to stay indoors and wrap yourself in bubble wrap when you leave the house, then maybe my experience will. I got in my running stance; right leg forward, left leg back. The quarterback yells “Hike!” I launched from the half field line, I take a quick left, I look back and the ball is flying my way like a missile; I catch it as if I had hands like Odell Beckham. My friend Bryan has cover on me. Now, Bryan sort of looks like the Hispanic version of DJ Khaled except without the beard. As I run trying to avoid him at all costs, he gets ahold of me and starts wrapping his legs around mine to bring me down – success. While I am going down I roll my ankle and his weight comes down on it. Snap! We both hear it and look at each other and before I can even process what has happened, I yell in agony. Everyone gathers around me and I say, “I broke my ankle dude!” “Just walk it off man, you didn’t do anything to it.” They finally realize that my ankle is broken, so they drive me home as fast as they legally could. From there, my parents take me to the hospital, and that is when the doctor confirmed my assumption, “It seems like your fibula has been broken, luckily it’s a clean break. We will have to refer you to the orthopedic doctors; we have scheduled an appointment for
