Agatha's heart first breaks into half in the first grade. It's still when she's small and chubby-cheeked, with an unfortunate bowl-cut resting on her head. But it's quite a shame that a six-year old heart has already broken in two.
His name is Aaron Cho, and she, childishly, was sure that he was the love of her life.
They sipped milk and chewed on stringy chicken tenders together and played with dinosaurs side by side and had nap time sleeping soundly alongside each other underneath the star covered ceiling of their first grade classroom.
She remembers that she invited him to lunch with her parents, when parents were still allowed to visit their children for a quick meal. Her father had brought her meal that she had thought was fancy at the time: a chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A. She remembers her parents informing her of moving to a new neighborhood, so she travels with them to their new house, and looks in awe at the hanging chandeliers and large rooms. But it wasn't right.
