Honor and leadership lead to bravery. This is portrayed into two of the greatest myths ever “Perseus” and “Theseus”. Perseus is the great son of the Olympian Zeus and Danae, the daughter of the king of Argos. Perseus is famous for his slaying of the most ferocious monsters, known as Medusa, and Cetus, the sea monster of Poseidon. Theseus is the son of Aegeus, best known for helping the region of Athens and the Athenian power through politics. Having honor is a big leading to bravery. When you have honor it undoubtedly gives you the motivation to complete a task. As well as their leadership, hence they don’t back down no matter how dangerous and difficult their quest is. Perseus is braver than Theseus, as comparing their leadership and honor, allowing Perseus to be the more respectable and reputable hero among the two. Perseus displays his honor, as the King intends to marry a foreign princess. Unable to solicit a gift to the king, Perseus says to the king “For you, I would go anywhere on Earth, I would even kill the terrible Gorgon Medusa in order to prove my loyalty and courage (Myths 200).” Perseus demonstrates great honor here, by putting his life at risk for the king. On the other hand Theseus “would obey Aegeus command to go to Athens, he refused to take the safe sea route”(myths 245). Theseus decided to take the route where there are …show more content…
When you have honor it undoubtedly gives you the motivation to complete a task. As well as their leadership, hence they don’t back down no matter how dangerous and difficult their quest is. Perseus is braver than Theseus. As Perseus is an extremely exceptional leader and an extremely honorable man. Perseus exceeds Theseus in these two points that lead to bravery.
