Braven Reflection

Over the course of this semester, I can honestly say that as the result of Braven’s guidance I have blossomed into the person that I have always aspired to be. Where I come from, my experiences, and my personality has shaped me into the person that I am today. After completing Braven I realized that living authentically and living my legacy is something that is important to me. I have come to understand that being as transparent as possible and not cowering under the expectations; separates you from the crowd. When I began my interviewing and summer internship process in March, I realized the skills and values I learned in Braven really did differentiate me from other potential job seekers. While interviewing at a company in New York City I was able to obtain the position as a Marketing Intern because the interviewer expressed his admiration for my vibrant personality and the eagerness I had to grow and learn. My skills in communication, working in a team and networking has completely transformed and I’m at a rate of achieving my goals faster than I initially expected. My experience with Braven has allowed me to uncover my passion for wanting to have an impact that guides people like me who don’t necessarily have the resources and tools to live up to their full potential. I want to spark a chain reaction of giving and learning in order to make the community that I am apart of full of progression and growth. I aspire to create a platform that leads young women of color into acquiring life-changing opportunities and experiences in order to live their authentic selves and fulfill their life
