Religion is being satirized for its mind-controlling ability that one’s belief in a religion or being is stronger than the other. In the Brave New World, the saying of “Oh Ford”(Huxley 83) and the entire country worshiping a single being or god is the crux of the satire. An example to take out of in our world is England’s crusades of the spreading of Christianity and the despairty people were at in the aftermath. Through the author's use of satire, his ideas of diversification is woven across the plot and characters. Similarly but with slim differences, in the movie Idiocracy, the glorification of a more intellectual being, as presented in the character Joe, shows the blind respect people have for his intellect. Another example is when the population praises companies such as Carl's Jr. and other main influential companies. Likewise, the director’s satirical intent is to expose the population for being so ignorant and gullible and to not have a mind of their own to think of. Comparing the two satire, Brave New World has a stronger impact to force someone to adjust because Huxley goes after the people preaching their religion, meanwhile the Judge tries to incriminate the people accepting too fast. In both narratives, Brave New World depicts of a world of corruption due to a single belief of no return, meantime Idiocracy depicts a world that is dumbed down but hasn’t reached the end of a cliff yet. With the idea of no return, it gives the audience a mindset that this is the worst possible outcome if everyone believed in a single religion or
