After linda's death, John was furious and uncontrollable, John states that “how many goodly creatures are there here ! how beauteous mankind is ! oh brave new world” to the group of Deltas. John has seen the difference of between the brave new world and the savage world. In the savage world, mankind had its own desire’s, its own will and problems that makes up an individual such as John, however, in the brave new world, there are no desire, nor struggle and without theos elements, John feels that no one is truly happy, nor knows the meaning of happiness and the “humans” in the brave new world are enslaved by this and are so different from zoo animals due to the fact that they are conditioned and never have to worry about any needs in life. In addition, the use of soma prevented individuals from finding true happiness. For instance, Linda’s ultimate goal was to get back into the society, however, she was faced against problems in her life such as the need to be loved and since she was never conditioned to face against those problems, she used soma as a way of escaping from reality which prevented her from achieving her goal and lead to constant unconsciousness as a result, it ended her
