Brattleboro: Poem Analysis

Improved Essays
The funniest thing about the town of Brattleboro was that it was impossible to not be creative. Everywhere you could possibly look there would be something that you could base a poem or painting off of. Everyone you met could be a character in some amazing novel. Every song you hear could allow you to create more music. This entire town oozed with art. Even the school was prominently people who one day would be an artist of sorts. There were trees everywhere. After all, the town did have a law preventing buildings to be a certain size just so they could preserve nature. Walking in autumn was a breeze because you could look down and imagine that you're stepping on pumpkins, cherries, lemons, when all those were just the leaves. "Hey Alex!" …show more content…
He wrote beautiful sonnets about love and thrilling poems every night. It really was spectacular what he wrote. If you were to read what he wrote, you would be extremely confused as to why he wasn't published. Most seventeen year olds don't normally get published, however, and being from a small town certainly didn't help. All of his works were extremely short. Poetry and the such had to be short. If you tried to write a poem the size of Harry Potter then everybody would have tuned out after the first stanza. He thrived in the short writing, as he could think of something, write it down, then come back to it later. He used to use Wattpad, but that was mostly a journal for him to write in. It was mainly private, even though he gained quite a following on the website in the process. That was freshman year, though, and Alex the junior wanted to do much …show more content…
Alex was also an actor. It's what I mainly attribute to him being so damn good at talking. He started doing plays in third grade and never found a way not to be in one. Wizard of Oz, Romeo and Juliet, he was in pretty much everything. Sure, he mainly got small parts, but everyone was amazed at how spot on he could take those small parts. He was incredible at what he did, no doubt about it. Alex and I were best friends for a very long time. Since we both met playing Magic, we had a pretty easy platform in which to make jokes and talk about. He would crack a joke about blue being a terrible color and we would then get into a debate as to why he was wrong. He always found a positive meaning in things, too. He lifted my spirits up so many times that he may be why it's so easy to write about him now. I attribute most of his amazing mannerisms to his parents. His mom and my mom have been friends since high school, so it's no surprise that we became friends. Our friendship felt almost genetic in a sense. His mother loved to speak out about the issues. Being a social worker does that to you. His mother was an avid democrat and would speak out against anyone who even mentioned the word "republican," because it infuriated her so much. She had an impeccable way of changing people's idea about things. Many told her she should be a politician. She would laugh at them every

Into The Wild by John Krakauer is a novel that depicts a story about a man name Christopher McCandless who ventured from place to place with the motive of reaching Alaska. In the novel, Chris was generalized as insane, crazy, or even relatable to other adventurists by different perspectives; and this constructs a controversial profile of his character since we will truly never understand who he was. However, I say otherwise. My viewpoint upon who Christopher McCandless “is” is that he is an individual who rejected his past. His perception of reality was altered from his childhood to adulthood, which such circumstances led him to developing the truth that the majority of his life was falsely lived.…

He became very known for his style of writing, he wrote very differently about politics. Instead of writing with all the Latin phrases and the technical terms, he wrote in a more describing, common and painting language which everybody could understand and therefor also make an opinion about. He had a lot of power in his writing abilities, because now he could persuade the Americans that the alliance with Britain was bad for them while it was good for Britain. The alliance was a burden to the colonists; Britain used them to pay their debt from the resent wars. He wrote about how bad the British government was, and he inspired people to fight for their freedom, independence and…

Opinion #1 Alex may have usually won his battles but he was a man that believed that the ends justify the means. This is thought because he had little regard for casualties for the enemy and for his own men. His main battle formation was a phalanx. This formation has all the men put into a long line usually 3-5 men thick with the flanks 4-8 men thick. Then while keeping formation they charged the enemy.…
