Brantley Gilbert Biography

Brantley Gilbert is a country rock singer and songwriter.He was born January 20, 1985 in Jefferson, Georgia. He began singing and songwriting when he was thirteen. Brantley was a college student at Georgia College & State University and was aspiring to be a marriage and relationship counselor. He was a special-needs counselor at Friendship Elementary in Gainesville, Georgia. When he was nineteen, he was in a near-fatal car accident while driving intoxicated. His academic career came to a halt, as most of his memories were erased by the trauma that he suffered. He says the accident spurred him to dedicate himself to his musical career and writing songs helped him recapture some memories he lost in the crash.
