Branford Case Summary

Branford, October 6, a fatal car accident accrued in front of Branford High School on Boston Post Road. Driver Edward Hightower, 68, hit Sharon Baldwin’s SUV, killing son Eric Baldwin, 16 who was a junior at Branford High. Mrs. Baldwin had just picked up her sons from school. Also in the vehicle was Everett Baldwin, 14 a freshman. He has been hospitalized at St. Raphael’s in New Haven and is expected to make a full recovery. The cause for the accident occurred when a deer ran out in the road and distracted Mr. Hightower. Witnesses at the scene confirm this according to a Branford police spokesperson. Mr. Hightower received no extensive injuries, he was only shaken up by the accident. He has since been released from Yale New Haven Hospital.
