Brandon Mull has written, or aided in the creation of seven series: Fablehaven, Beyonders, Dragonwatch, Five Kingdoms, Candy Shop War, Pingo, and Spirit Animals. His favorite authors include Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Orson Scott Card, J.K. Rowling, J.D. Salinger, Hemingway, Frank Herbert, Neil Gaiman, Ayn Rand, and George R.R. Martin. He was born on November 8, 1974, in Pomperaug, Connecticut, and grew up in Westlake, California. He later went to college at Brigham Young University, where he led a sketch comedy group called Divine Comedy and served a mission in Chile for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
