Reason is important when making a decision or a choice. We often make a choice according on our instinct, so unconsciously. In contrast sense perception doesn’t require a justification, but we often are looking for a justification when we experience something. Other than reason, is sense perception the first and not teachable thing we learn when we are small. With reason we have to learn it first. So the difference between them is that a reason has to rely on something, so it requires a justification, while sense perception doesn’t need any justification.
Reason isn’t always going to explain the thing that go on in sense perception. Like the mysterious, unexplainable things that we hear daily – a blind men is an artist, a deaf person can play music – are those points, where reason doesn’t seem to agree with sense perception, so the things we experience aren’t really explainable how it’s possible that they seem to work.
For example it’s a very unusual thing, that John Bramblitt is able to draw things just by feeling them. This is a very unusual thing to learn, when I consider how difficult it is to draw a face by itself from a picture, or in 3d, but in his case he doesn’t even see the person and he has just his fingers to make himself a picture out of the contours and areas he feels. That’s just unbelievable being able to create a picture in his mind by just feeling the
