Football is one of the greatest American sports. It is a fun and rewarding game to some people. To others, it may be too time-consuming and too much effort required. Whatever it is to you there is one thing we can all agree on...football is a dangerous sport. Between head injuries and just entire body injuries it is dangerous. The most common injury in football is a head injury. Head injuries are dangerous and the most frequent injury. Broken bones will heal, but your brain may not. Football brain injuries can be short term like a concussion or long term like CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy).
Concussions. Concussions are what is keeping some kids from playing football. Either they have already had a concussion or two or that their parents don't want them to play because of them. The only issue with concussions is that you can’t exactly stop them. Concussions can be caused by not just blows to the head and helmets can't stop all of them. Concussions are caused most of the time by hits to the head but can also be caused by the head and back being violently shaken.
