For my proposal essay, I plan to write it on the increase in brain trauma in post-NFL players. The brain disease commonly associated with this is chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE. It has been found in wrestlers and boxers for years and suddenly is making an appearance in the beloved American sport, professional football. For years, it was an issue that NFL doctors refused to address, despite the increase of suicides in players. The players complained beforehand of distorted vision, mood-swings, sudden aggressive behavior, memory loss and poor judgement. These symptoms tend to occur 8-10 years after repetitive concussions and other brain trauma. Unfortunately, victims of CTE can not be diagnosed until after death, through a direct tissue
