1. What do you think the expression ‘brain drain’ implies?
Answer: Brain Drain according to me is the immigration of talented and inspired individuals in the form of doctors, engineers, scientists, architects, educators and other technically qualified and well-educated people from an undeveloped and underdeveloped country to more developed country or a state. It’s a situation in which well-trained professionals leave their place of work or profession in search of a better pay and living condition. It’s also known as human capital flight, and it can occur on different levels like geographical, industrialization and industrial.

I think these two years of utmost hardships and day and night struggle with a completely zero outcome in the form of betterment, better pay, better lifestyle or facilities is enough motivation for me to opt to choose to work in some other country.

7. Do you think brain drain is useful for Pakistan?
Answer: Pakistan had more than seven million Pakistani’s residing in 140 countries of the world a year ago. This number has further more increase this year to a higher echelon. How can it be useful for an underdeveloped country to afford its most educated and skilled people to leave country and never head back!

8. What is at stake in Pakistan due to brain drain?
Answer: The young graduates are the valuable assets to a country that they cannot afford to lose. Other than causing a reduction in the count of bright residents, it directly impacts the economic development of a country. This phenomenon of loosing talented young lot results in the loss of the intellectual strength of a society.

What are the factors contributed by the government in increasing brain drain?
Answer: In recent years Pakistan has produced just too many graduates and most of them low quality unfortunately. The provision of license to the private substandard educational institutes is one of the very strong reasons of increase in brain drain. Secondly, the recruitment agencies are so biased and corrupt that none of the qualified people gets to hold a job and hence they choose to leave for abroad.

15. What would you be able to recommend for lessening brain drain from our nation?
Answer: We Pakistanis love Pakistan. Majority of us are family oriented people who want to live with their families in their own country. But they are driven away from their home in search of better jobs, healthier remuneration and security. If they have these 3, they never leave their country.
To reverse brain drain in Pakistan, we have to attract the individuals with high salaries, opportunities for growth, better lifestyle and economic conditions, more recreational opportunities, less restrictions and taxations, educational benefits, provision of research facilities, secure working environment and effective labor laws, and other development
