'Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell The Truth'

As Youtuber Richard Williams, also known as Prince Ea, once mentioned, “Planet Earth is 4.5 billion years old while humankind is about 140 thousand years old. In a different perspective, if the Earth’s life span is condensed into 24 hours, then we have been here for three seconds.” Now think about all the lying you have done throughout your whole life, which would be three seconds. As you recall all of these moments, don’t you think we have been doing far too much lying during our short lives? This belief has been incorporated in the articles, “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth,” by Barbara Ballinger and “Teens Do their Share of Lying,” by Loretta Ragsdell, which introduce and analyze the idea of lying. According to Ballinger, “lying hurts relationships” (Ballinger 3). For most people, relationships are a big part of their lives which can be made very easily, but conserving these relationships is the hard part. Whether you have relationships through your job or just simply in your personal life, you don’t run the risk of losing them as long as you reveal the truth at all times. Another article, “Teens Do their Share of Lying,” by Loretta Ragsdell, she conveys the same message, saying that avoiding lying assists our minds in becoming stress-free. Eighteen-year old Sabrina shows she has had experience when she reveals, “I really have to rack my brain to remember” (Ragsdell 14). Remembering what you said from month or even days ago is definitely something not everyone is capable of doing, so keeping away from lies will certainly keep you away from stress and trouble. On the other hand, you may think that it would be justified to lie when you are in a life or death situation. Although you may say that it would be a perfectly good exception to lie in this case, it would still not be acceptable because even when someone lies in this type of situation, you still have the possibility to get caught even when you don’t
