Boy Scouts Research Paper

The Boy Scouts of America need community partners such as police departments, fire department, schools and churches, military organizations and also local businesses. It is important to have organizations that share the same values and interests in the development of youth as you do as a community partner all of these organizations thrive from positive youth mentor ship. Everyone of these organizations have something to offer the Boy Scouts of America respect and obedience can be taught by the police department courage, bravery, and life-saving skills can be taught by the local fire department. The church would obviously be able to teach them about God and faith. Students from our university could participate in service learning projects with the community partners and the Boy Scouts of America by providing the specific service or product which can be very useful in helping our students …show more content…
In Las Vegas the Boy Scouts parted with local schools and you will have several Cub Scout packs that are located in the neighborhoods they support. Some neighborhoods are wealthier than others therefore more money should be given to packs in poor neighborhoods so they may be able to do the same type of events as those in the wealthier neighborhoods. Everything revolves around how much money you can bring in if you go door-to-door in a wealthy neighborhood you are more likely to sell $30,000 during the fundraising. If you’re going to have a successful mentor ship program the same opportunities need to be available for all boys so if you have a pack that could raise $60,000 in one year meanwhile across town another pack can barely raise $1000 which group of boys would have a bigger advantage and more opportunities. The local districts and councils should step in and cross level some of the money to ensure everyone has a successful
