I loved the variety of work that the group was able to do over the week. I felt like it was all useful and needed work as the ministry had had a harsh winter and this hopefully gave a new life for the start of spring there. I also enjoyed working with those from Tree of Life and also from my group. We were able to have fun and keep a positive mindset during the week while we were working. I think part of this is due to the reason why we were working and how we were trying to show the love of Jesus.…

For the past five summers, I’ve worked at a summer camp as a counselor. I met a wide range of people, from underprivileged children to knowledgeable college students. Not only did I teach campers how to make ice cream and friendship bracelets, I made lifelong connections with many of the other counselors. Camp is where I learned what it meant to be part of a supportive community. Although most of us only see each other during summer, it’s an amazing feeling to come back to such a devoted group of people and work together doing what we…

Helping them to learn to ride was such an experience, seeing them grow into good riders. This experience definitely helped to improve working as a team and my communication skills, making me into the person I am today. As another part of my work experience I completed a 10 week course at Blackpool Zoo, Zoo Keeper Academy, which moved from small insects to large mammals. It was a mixture of both theory and practical tasks so not only did we get to handle the animals but we got to learn about their habitats, diets, body structures and behaviours.…
