Boy In The Striped Pajamas Response

In the movie The Boy In The Striped Pajamas, the director Mark Herman illustrates a book written by John Boyne. The movie depicts what occurred during the Holocaust showing both sides, the Jews and the Germans. Sadly, the amount of violence that occurred during the Holocaust was incredibly uncalled for and such a cruel act that affected so many helpless individuals. The Germans were ruthless during this time and did not care how they treated the Jews. Personally, the Jews did not deserve to be regarded in this way, they did nothing to be given this type of treatment.
For starters, this movie clearly foreshadows violence in so many ways. Throughout the movie, the Jews were treated so unfairly. Hitler wanted them all dead, no matter what he

They felt as if they needed to follow whatever Hitler's orders were even if that meant killing individuals that did not need to be killed. The Jews were burned and murdered if they had disabilities. Sadly, the Jews were not the only ones that were affected, Gypsies and many others endured being starved and beaten. In the film, even the mother and father felt that they must obey the orders of Hitler so that they could live the lifestyle that they did. As the mother states,"It's not up to us to change things,"(Herman). The mother felt as if nothing could be changed and the little boy Bruno did not understand why the Jews were being treated so poorly by his people. In fact, Bruno tries to help them in the best way that he can especially when he meets Shmuel. He tried to bring food to his friend because he was being starved to death by the Germans. They were not treated right though, and Bruno had witnessed many of the beatings. This is truly where violence plays a role in this movie. One other example of how the Jews were treated is that so many of them had been beaten. Bruno noticed that many of the Jews were not being treated properly when he witnessed the bandages around their bodies. They received these bandages because they had been beaten in the head by hammers or other tools. He just thought they were working on the farm and that is why they had the …show more content…
His simple little friendship with Shmuel turns from innocence to death. So many Jews were killed during this violent film, including Shmuel's father and Bruno who both went missing one day. Bruno followed Shmuel into the camp so that they could find Shmuel's father. They walk into the "shower" because that is where they are all being led and then they are gassed and burned to death. As questioned by Lieutenant Kotler, "They smell worse when they burn don’t they."? All of those lovely individuals including the commandants son were killed because of Hitler and the Germans. Sadly, right before Bruno and Shmuel left to go find the little Jewish boys father, Bruno tells his friend something. "We're not supposed to be friends, you and me; were meant to be enemies,". Bruno did not care that Shmuel was a Jew, they had made a great friendship with each other and this was his only friend since they were out in the middle of nowhere. This is why the Holocaust was such a violent point in

It is what makes the movie, the movie. Both the book and the movie express the havoc and chaos of the story. Both showed how much strength it took for each person to survive the beatings and the cries of loved ones as they were dragged out to be “taken care of”. The movie and the book are alike in many ways, also expressing the Jewish tradition that some Jews still cherish today. Both the book and the movie make a great effort to try and touch on what it was like in the concentration camps, and what it was like working in hard conditions.…

The cruel hands of the SS guards struck relentlessly on the dehumanized victims. The inhumane camp held the minorities captive for what seemed to be endless periods of time. The saddest aspect of the Holocaust was not how many lives were lost, but how how many souls were killed, tortured, and put through excruciating pain. By the end of Night the surviving prisoners were completely different people, people who could only think about the horrid, monstrous things in the world, people who were guilty for what they were forced to watch and do to their fellow prisoners, people who had very little humanity left in them. At these camps, Jews, and other “imperfect” humans, were deceived and lied to, forced to turned against each other, and turned…

Together, they risk their lives to save the young Jew's father. Both stories share the same main topic, the Holocaust during World War II.…
