Why Boxer is a Leader Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, is about a rebellion that took place on a farm in England, however the book represents the strife that took place during the Russian Revolution. In Animal Farm Boxer, the horse, represents who would be a communist supporter in the Russian Revolution. Boxer represents a communist supporter, because in the book Boxer stayed loyal to Napoleon (Joseph Stalin), even when it was clear that Napoleon was a tyrant. Boxer was the best leader in animal farm, because even though he isn’t smart, he has a good attitude and even better work ethic. It and that would benefit his followers more than somebody that is just smart, because his followers would mimick his hard work, and most likely be smarter…

Boxer is a loyal, strong horse who doesn’t question the leaders or government. He doesn’t complain, is constantly working, and is an optimist. “He had been a hard worker even in Jones’s time, but now he seemed more like three horses than one” (pg.29). On the other hand, Benjamin is a cynic, pessimistic donkey. He watches what is happening, but doesn’t get caught up in it.…
Alongside with courage, Melba demonstrates that she is determined. "I don't know if I should go back. But grandma is right, if I don't go back, they will think they have won," (Beals 42). Here she demonstrates that she is determined and wants to prove that she is not a quitter and will not make the people against integration happy. Melba knows that if she give those people against integration that happiness, they will think that they will always be in charge and her people will have to obey them.…
Have you ever lived in a society in where everyone is equal (but NOT in a way the people like it)? Harrison Bergeron did. He is a 14-year-old boy who lived in a dystopian world went to jail because the government considered him as a threat. In the beginning of the novel, Holling is reliable and respectful, towards Danny. Danny wants to be seen as a good person and someone who stands up to bullies. In the middle of the novel, Danny supported Holling by going to watch his play even though Holling had an embarrassing part. Danny stood up to Mickey Mantle when Holling said “I held out the perfect white baseball and whispered,“Can I please have your autograph?”…
Snowball is hungry for change, he believes in the values of sacrificing the principle of animal equality for his own personal comfort. The betrayal of Boxer represents the absolute betrayal of the animal’s right and equality. Boxer is working himself to death, he is not recovering from his injuries quickly as it should, because he practices his own motto, ‘I will work harder.’ (Orwell 3.2). Napoleon response is driven by fear of loss of power.…
Boxer really has been through much while also trying to be loyal and doing the work that he's supposed to be doing. Like his rations got cut short, so even though he worked his butt off, he still got less food than he deserved. Also, he got shot in one of the battles he fought in being a conformist. Also, in the novel the animals that were conformist like Boxer, they all came together to build a windmill and the building of it was a success at first but then someone blew it up.…
Link Character Type: Round Link is a character in the book Warriors Don’t Cry. He only was introduced at the end of the book, but we can see the amount of layers in him already. In Chapter 15, on pg. 177, Melba thinks about how, “Each time I passed Link in the hallway, he winked at me. It was the one kind gesture in a morning filled with hellish activity. In the days that followed, every time I saw Link, he acknowledged me in some way.”…
The idea of patriotism has long been a founding principle among a nation’s community. The independence of a nation is always celebrated, and it’s citizens are expected to honor the sovereign beliefs of their homeland. From the beginning, the core properties of a country are ingrained in the day to day practices of its people, and these practices carry on to become their traditions, and a part of themselves and their community. In Boxers and Saints, a graphic novel diptych that explores the Boxer rebellion that occurred in China in 1900, Gene Luen Yang illustrates two characters that are the same inner battle from different sides of the rebellion. Bao, a young boy, leaves his village in search of revenge against the foreign devils have pillaged his community, and wrecked the lives people he cares about.…
Although he does not have a lot of time to spend freely, Boxer always puts his job before himself. While the other animals were using their resting time, Boxer would keep on working on the tasks that he could manage alone. “In his spare moments, of which there were not many nowadays, he would go alone to the quarry, collect a load of broken stone, and drag it down to the site of the windmill unassisted”(61, 62). By showing leadership from working hard, the animals of the farm look up towards Boxer as a figure of unlimited strength and a source of support when times get tough. When the animals feel like they can not carry on their task, Boxer is always there to help them.…

In order for the other animals to fear Napoleon, “The dogs promptly tore their throats out, and in a terrible voice Napoleon demanded whether any other animal had anything to confess” (Orwell 75). Napoleon does not listen to what they have to say, he harshly executes them for almost no reason at all. It is a malicious and shocking act. After Boxer becomes ill from age, Napoleon calls a van to take him to the animal hospital but soon the animals that can read discover that the van is really taking him to a horse slaughterer (Orwell 108). Boxer is kind and loyal to Napoleon despite his devious acts.…
