Box Color Research Paper

Let's be honest, a lot of people are under the assumption that hair dressers just say there's a difference, so you'll spend more money. Well, that's not the case at all. It's important to realize the differences, between box color, and professional hair color. Box color that you can buy from a local store is more like a “one size fits all” shirt, it never really looks the way it should. Box color contains the same chemicals for each person who buys it, so there's really no telling what's going to happen. According to the solution and developer in the box, everyone's hair is exactly the same, but here's the problem, the canvas that you start with will always affect the end result. There are many things to take into …show more content…
In the salon, there is a wide range of levels, tones, and developers, for the professional to use to make it the most personal service, and formula possible. Using a box color over, and over, with the high level developers included WILL ruin your hair. There will be harsh lines and uneven coverage. Not to mention… professionals constantly update their education, to keep up with the latest trends. Box color won't do baby lights, or balayeage, but your hair stylist will. Another reason box color should never be an option, color cannot lift color. Imagine trying to get a red marker to show up on black paper, it's not going to happen. So why would it be possible for light colors to show up on dark hair? It's not, unless… You got it… it's done professionally. In order to make your hair lighter you have to follow very specific steps. Lightening your hair isn't a process that you can learn over 20 mins, in a YouTube tutorial. Professionals have studied the color wheel, to insure that they have the knowledge to counteract, correct, and cover up any unwanted pigment. The laws of color don't change because of the canvas they're on. Red hair and blonde hair won't react the same to, let's say, light brown hair color. The box doesn't know that, the box won't change for your hair. This is why it's important to trust your stylists, they will take

As we have been exploring the ideas of faith and Christianity in class, we were called to look deeper into the meaning of Christianity through various self-designated books. Francine Rivers’ story, The Shoe Box, is centered around a child by the name of Timmy O’Neil and the raggedy brown box he carries by his side at all times. Francine Rivers mentions before the start of the story how she formulated this book based directly on her own experiences. The overall purpose of this book was to convey the message that Jesus is always with us through whatever we may be going through. Therefore, the main thesis of this specific story was to essentially leave all one’s worries and problems up to the Lord, which Rivers translates through the character of Timmy O’Niel.…
