Bowlegs Research Paper

Improved Essays
Bowlegs is a disorder in which the knees remain wide apart when a person is standing. Babies are born bowlegged as a result of their folded position in the uterus. The baby's bowed legs start to straighten once the youngster starts to walk and the legs start to bear weight (about 12 to 18 months old). Normal appearance is typically achieved when the child is 3 years of age. At this moment, a child can normally stand with the ankles together and the knees simply touch. In the event that the bowed legs persist into this period, the child is called bowlegged.
